Re: Logo Distribution

Dear Brothers,
The new Congregation Logo, as agreed upon at the meeting of
Leaders in the Philippines in January 2006, has now been
produced, thanks to Cyril Christopher of the Indian
Province who has expended much effort in negotiations for
the production of the logo.
The Logos are about to be distributed across the
Congregation. From advice received, we have decided to send
two copies of the Logo to each Brother in the Congregation.
These are lapel type logos, each about two centimetres in
diameter.
All Logos are silver in colour.
The cost of the Logos is $US2 per piece. Provinces are
requested to refund to the CLT the total cost of the Logos
distributed to any particular Province.
We also recommend that, where possible, the Logos are
distributed at some meaningful time or ceremony at which
our Congregation identity can be highlighted. One model of
a ritual for acceptance of the logo is attached.
As has been pointed out on previous occasions, Provinces
may, over time, produce the Logo in different materials and
in different colours. The essential aspect of the Logo is
the shape and this shape ought be faithfully retained in
all reproductions.
A Congregation Logo only becomes known and recognised if it
is prominently used and promoted across Provinces and
across the Congregation. Hence every encouragement is given
to availing of the Logo on documents, buildings, websites,
posters, correspondence, shirt pockets, lapels, vehicles,
etc.
An interpretation of the Logo is provided in the
accompanying ritual but it is open to further
interpretations as we continue to reflect on our identity
as Christian Brothers at this time.
VARIATIONS
Some Logos of the same size have also been produced with a
ring at the top so that the logo could be worn from a chain
around the neck.
Some larger Logos have also been produced, around four
centimetres in diameter, with a ring at the top. Initially
we intend to present these at Final Profession ceremonies
but some Provinces may like to have some of these for
special purposes.
