Vocations
Planning Group Meeting – Marcantonio Colonna, Rome,
24-25 July 2006.
In preparation for the
Vocations Conference which is to be held in Auckland, New
Zealand fro 11-17 April 2007, the group that has the task
of planning the conference met at the Generalate in Rome
for 2 days in July.
Given that there have been very few new members entering
the Congregation from the (so-called) First World Provinces
in recent years, it was felt that the conference in
Auckland would concentrate on this particular challenge.
The planning group consisted of :
David Gibson (Europe) Martin Kenneally (Presentation
Brothers)
Kevin Griffith (North America) John Webb (Australia)
Paul Robertson (New Zealand) Dominic Sassi (CLT)
Sr. Anne O’Leary, pvm (Facilitator) Sr. Gemma
Simmonds (cj) (Speaker)
The tasks of this preparatory meeting included:
• Define the roles of the facilitator and speaker
• Decide on the theme, title and logo for the
conference
• Decide on the venue in Auckland
• Draw up a list of participants to invite
• Plan the content of the conference and process to be
used
• Assign tasks for the planning group between now and
the start of the conference
• Hoped for results and follow-up from the conference
I think we got through most
of the above. We finished the meeting with the belief that
the Auckland conference will be a worthwhile and
significant meeting. Further information will soon be sent
to Leadership.
